When deciding whether you want to follow through on those plans that you made last week with your friend from work or not, remember that Netflix isn’t exactly making you happier, it’s just easier than getting up off the couch and going bowling. All you have are your feelings in the present moment. That’s why you get super excited about plans a week in advance, but then hate yourself for making these plans and hope that they cancel on the day of.
